Running operations and a remote team

What do the start and end of shift reports contain?

The first says what is true right now and what needs fixing. The second checks what was actually finished, against evidence, and carries the rest forward by name.

Start of shift

  • A sweep of every client: websites, email, social, leads and messages.
  • What clients asked for while we were off.
  • A written task list for each assistant, with how to prove each item.

End of shift

  • Each task checked against live evidence, not against someone saying it is done.
  • What is still open, named and carried to the next shift.
  • The client progress reports.

The rule behind both

A check that could not run is reported as could not look. It is never reported as nothing wrong.

Where this comes from

This is how our own team works every day. It is not taken from one client.
