Running operations and a remote team
What happens when two instructions disagree?
The assistant says so out loud, names both, and the two are turned into one rule the same day. Quietly picking the easier one is how weeks of wrong work begin.
Say it first
Name both instructions, what each says, and which one the work would follow. Nobody can settle a conflict they never hear about.
Then make one rule
- Combine them where both intentions can be kept.
- If one has to lose, write down why and on whose word.
- Replace both old versions, so the conflict cannot come back.
A warning sign
A newer note that makes a job do less of what it exists for deserves a question before it is followed.
Where this comes from
This is how our own team works every day. It is not taken from one client.
