How does working United States hours from the Philippines work?
Our team works through the night in the Philippines, which is the working day in the United States. A report at the start of the shift says what needs attention, and a report at the end closes the day out.
The shape of a shift
- The shift starts in the evening in the Philippines, which is morning for most of our clients.
- A start-of-shift check goes through every client: websites, email, social, leads and messages.
- Each assistant gets their tasks for the day in writing, with how to prove each one.
- An end-of-day check confirms what was finished and what carries over.
What a client sees
A client's messages are read during their own working day, by a person who is awake. A progress report reaches them in their morning, written from what was actually done.
What makes it hold together
Written hand-offs. Nothing depends on one person remembering. Planning shifts and writing procedures down is something our team learned by running shift teams for other businesses before we ran our own.
