Running operations and a remote team

How are tasks handed between people and computers?

In writing, to a named inbox, with how to prove each one is done. Every teammate and every computer has its own inbox, and nothing that was handled is ever deleted.

What a hand-off contains

  • What to do.
  • How to prove it.
  • Who it is for.
  • What it must not touch.

How it is closed

The person who did it marks it done with proof, or blocked with the reason. Finished items move to a done folder, so there is always a record.

Why writing it down matters

A task that lives only in a chat is lost when the chat scrolls. A written hand-off can be picked up by whoever is on shift.

Where this comes from

This is how our own team works every day. It is not taken from one client.
